CannaWize publishes cannabis journalism and educational resources. We collect only the information needed to operate the site, answer readers, deliver requested emails, understand site performance, and protect the service.
Information You Provide
If you use the contact or sponsorship form, we receive the contact and company information, campaign details, acknowledgments, message, and any other details you choose to include. If you subscribe to the CannaWize Brief, we receive the email address submitted through that form. Do not send medical records, customer records, government identification numbers, payment-card details, passwords, confidential formulations, or other sensitive information through a site form.
Information Collected During a Visit
Our hosting and security providers may process standard technical data such as an IP address, browser type, device information, requested pages, timestamps, referring page, and error or security logs. This information helps deliver pages, prevent abuse, diagnose failures, and understand aggregate traffic. CannaWize does not attempt to use ordinary web logs to diagnose a reader’s health or build a medical profile.
How Information Is Used
- To reply to questions, source tips, and correction requests.
- To send a newsletter a reader requested and manage unsubscribes.
- To maintain site reliability, accessibility, and security.
- To measure aggregate readership and improve article organization.
- To document consent, prevent spam, and comply with applicable obligations.
Hosting, Forms, and Outside Services
The site is hosted on Netlify. Form submissions and related technical data may be processed through Netlify’s infrastructure. When CannaWize links to an outside publisher, agency, retailer, affiliate partner, or social platform, that service applies its own privacy practices after the reader leaves CannaWize.
Analytics Choices
Netlify may provide aggregate, server-based traffic information used to understand readership and site performance. CannaWize may also offer optional Google Analytics measurement. Google Analytics is not loaded unless a visitor chooses “Accept cookies.” When allowed, it may process page visits, device and browser information, general location derived from an IP address, referring pages, and interactions such as sponsored-link clicks. Advertising personalization and Google signals are disabled in CannaWize’s configuration. A visitor can decline optional analytics when asked or clear site storage to reset the choice.
Affiliate Links
Some links may identify that CannaWize referred a visitor so a partner can attribute a purchase or action. CannaWize may receive a commission without changing the reader’s price. Affiliate relationships are explained on the disclosure page. We do not receive a retailer’s complete customer account or medical record merely because a reader follows an affiliate link.
Retention and Security
Contact and newsletter information is kept only as long as reasonably needed for the purpose it was collected, recordkeeping, dispute resolution, abuse prevention, or legal obligations. No online transmission or storage method can be guaranteed completely secure, so readers should limit what they place in a message.
Your Choices
Newsletter emails should include an unsubscribe option. Readers may ask CannaWize to review, correct, or delete contact information by using the contact form and selecting “Privacy request.” We may need enough information to verify and complete the request, and certain records may be retained when legally required or needed for security.
Children
CannaWize is written for adults 21 and older and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly seek personal information from children. A parent or guardian who believes a child submitted information may contact us for review.
Changes to This Policy
Material updates will appear on this page with a revised effective date. Continued use after an update means the current notice applies to later activity. CannaWize does not sell contact-form messages or newsletter addresses.
